Norbert Meier is part of the Superconducting Circuits team of the ETH Zurich - PSI Quantum Computing Hub. He joined the Quantum Device Lab in October 2024 as a Process Engineer and continues to work for the FIRST team at ETH Hönggerberg, in both positions with a workload of 40%.

Prior to the ETH Zürich, Norbert worked for more than 14 years (2004 - 2020) as a staff member at IBM Research – Zurich in the Photonics Group and after its renaming in 2016 in the Neuromorphic Devices and Systems Group. As a Process Engineer, he was involved in several research projects in the field of polymer optical interconnects, silicon photonics and high-performance accelerator hardware for neuronal networks. From 2020 - 2022, he worked for Polariton Technologies Ltd. and was responsible for process optimization and fabrication of plasmonic electro-optic modulators.

Norbert holds a Master degree in Micro- and Nanotechnology from the University of Applied Science Vorarlberg and a dipl. Ing. FH in Datenanalyse und Prozessdesign from the Zurich University of Applied Science (ZHAW).
