    Transportation:

    Note: As most of you will travel several times per day with the Zurich public transport system it is advisable to buy a day pass when you arrive at the airport or the main station.

    From airport to the main station:

    After reclaiming baggage, follow the signs "Bahn/Railway" to ticket counters and machines. There are English instructions on the machine; follow them or simply press the left (red) key at the bottom where it says "Zurich City". The machine accepts coins as well as banknotes and gives change. The ticket is valid during the next 2 hours for any train to Zurich as well as for the trams and buses in the city (streetcar, Strassenbahn). Take an escalator down to the platforms 3 or 4. Trains to city centre leave approx. every 10 minutes and take about 10 minutes to reach main station (main station or Zurich HB).

    From airport to ETH Hönggerberg:

There are English instructions on the machine; follow them or simply press the left (red) key at the bottom where it says "Zurich City". The machine accepts coins as well as banknotes and gives change. The ticket is valid during the next hour for any train to Zurich as well as for the trams and buses in the city (streetcar, Strassenbahn). Take an escalator down to the platforms 3 or 4. Trains to city centre leave approx. every 10 minutes and take about 10 minutes to reach Bahnhof Oerlikon. Change to the bus no. 80 (Oerlikon Nord) to «ETH Hönggerberg».

    From main station to ETH Hönggerberg:

    There are English instructions on the ticket machines; follow them or simply press the blue key at the bottom for a one hour ticket or the green button for a 24 hours ticket (recommanded if you plan at least two rides a day). The machine accepts coins as well as banknotes and gives change. The ticket is valid for all the trams and buses in the city (streetcar, Strassenbahn).

    Journey time: about twentyfive minutes. With S-Bahnlinien no. 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 14, 16 to Bahnhof Oerlikon; change to the bus no. 80 (Oerlikon Nord) to «ETH Hönggerberg».

    Journey time: about twentyfive minutes. With tram no. 11 (direction Auzelg) from main station (Bahnhofstrasse or Bahnhofquai) to the stop Bucheggplatz; change to the connecting bus no. 69 to the «ETH Hönggerberg».

    Journey time: about twentyfive minutes. With tram no. 14 (direction Seebach) from main station (Bahnhofplatz or Bahnhofquai) to the stop Milchbuck; change to the connecting bus no. 69 to the «ETH Hönggerberg».

    From and to Hotel Astor:

    From mainstation: take the tram no. 6 (direction Zoo),7 (direction Stettbach) or 10 (direction Oerlikon) and get off at the second stop, which is Haldenegg.
    To ETH: tram number 15 (direction Bucheggplatz) to the stop Bucheggplatz; change to the connecting bus no. 69 to the ETH Hönggerberg.

    From and to Hotel Krone :

    From mainstation: take the tram no.11 in the direction of Messe / Hallenstadion (green) or the tram no.14 in the direction of Seebach (blue) and get off at the third stop, which is Kronenstrasse.
    To ETH: tram number 11 in the direction of Messe / Hallenstadion to the stop Bucheggplatz; change to the connecting bus no. 69 to the ETH Hönggerberg.
