Giovanni Zhang is carrying out his Master’s thesis at the Quantum Device Lab, focusing on the design and characterization of large-scale 3D-integrated quantum devices as part of his MSc in Quantum Engineering at ETH Zurich. He joined the lab in September 2024 as a QuanTech student working on Two-Level System (TLS) mitigation in superconducting quantum devices, and rejoined the group as a Research Assistant in September 2025 focusing on large-scale 3D-integrated device design and measurement.

Previously, Giovanni gained experience with spin qubits at the Quantum Coherence Lab in Basel on Intel’s Tunnel Falls platform, and at Quantum Motion in London on 22FD-SOI GlobalFoundries devices.
