Tilly Schaaf rejoined our group in Spring 2026 for her Master’s thesis at Fermilab in Chicago entitled “Parity Measurements in a Novel Superconducting Quasiparticle Amplifying Transmon (SQUAT)”. In the United States, she is part of the CosmiQ research group, which focuses on dark matter sensing using quantum technologies. She is also exploring various aspects of qubit calibration and control, as well as the potential applications of transmons optimized for sensing. She had previously joined our group in the Spring Semester 2025 to carry out a semester project within the ETH Zurich Master programme (MSc ETH Physics).
