Simone joined ETH as a member of the Quantum Device Lab in January 2024. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Advanced Quantum Architectures Laboratory (AQUA) at EPFL in January 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Edoardo Charbon, with a focus on the fabrication of high-kinetic inductance superconducting sensors and electronics. Following his doctoral studies, Simone has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hybrid Quantum Circuit Laboratory (HQC) led by Prof. Pasquale Scarlino since February 2023, specializing on building kinetic inductance parametric amplifiers. Prior to his doctoral research, Simone worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory on high-critical temperature and ultrafast Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) from 2016 to 2018.
